Antique Tailor or Dressmaker's sewing form salesman sample-----15526

Description

If you have bought from me before you may have noticed that I like unusual salesman samples.  This is a very neat piece.  A Superior Model 1961 table top salesman sample canvas dressmaker's form.  I believe about 1920 vintage.  A canvas body and steel frame, the diminutive mannequin retains a partial original blue and silver foil "Superior Model Forms Co. Inc. / Designers & Manufacturers of Model Forms for the Garment Trade / 34 W. 17th Street New York City" label.  Additionally stamped on the front "1/2 / 12 / Model 1961," and on the reverse "F.I.T. / B. of E. / City of NY,".  The body which is mounted on an iron rod and base is adjustable in height.  In overall very good condition although the iron base is somewhat rough.  Overall size of the mannequin" 17 high; total height is approximately 30 inches.  From the Estate of collector Peter Knoll.  Would be a great addition to a salesman sample collection or really a neat piece in your sewing or quilting room.   Email any day (see email address above---I normally check
