1855 - The Committee on Revolutionary War Claims reports the family of Clement Sewall, a soldier in the Revolution from 1777 to the end, when he was promoted, wants his back pay increased to officer level. The Committee recognizes his status as a gallant soldier but can't find his increase in rank recorded anywhere and denies the claim.
