A brief history of "LIfe On Mars?":
In 1968 David Bowie was commisioned to write Engish lyrics to a French song "Comme d'habitude", by Claude Francois. After the lyrics were rejected, a year later Bowie heard Frank Sinatra singing "My Way"; Paul Anka's lyrics to the same melody! He was so annoyed with it's success, that he decided to write a parody of it, out of vengance and wrote "Life on Mars?".
"Life on Mars?" was recorded in August, 1971 on the 'Hunky Dory' album, and also released as a single on June 22, 1973. It was number three on the charts for thirteen weeks.
The promotional video features Bowie in the POWDER-BLUE SUIT, and the BROWN TWO-TONED PLATFORMS that appear on this Barbie Signature Doll!
