Size 346 is a heavyweight thread used for sewing awnings, upholstery, canvas, shoe leather, boat covers, pool covers, auto interiors, sails, and tents. Size 346 polyester thread is frequently used for re-enforcing fabric and belts. This size is also known as Tex 350 and Government Size 5-Cord. With a tensile strength of 53 pounds, expect 1,300 Yards per pound. Stitching stands out and requires a commercial sewing machine. Use a size 26 or 28 needle.
