When the umbrella is closed it measures about 6.25 inches long and opens up to a full size of about 38 inches around. It is a manual open and close umbrella and not automatic This umbrella retails for at stores and includes case to store it in when it's not in use. When closed it would fit in your purse or pocketbook and when opened it's a full size umbrella. This is a nice size compact umbrella with a floral design.
